My favourite leftback of the moment is Leighton Baines. He is a young English defender who has immense potential. He had a few great seasons playing at Wigan. Baines is a traditional leftback who is strong with his left and loves to move up the flank to join in attacks.
Baines is already a first-choice leftback in the England U-21 team. He looks like a future star and i believe he will have a great England career when the likes of Ashley Cole and Wayne Bridge are past their prime. I think Baines is worth a lot more than upcoming youngster Gareth Bale, who is unproven in the Premiership.
In an interview with FourFourTwo, Baines said he started out as a left winger, which explains his great attacking ablilty. He knows his weak with headers, so he practises more on it. His right foot is used only for balance(just like me), so he also works really hard on it.
Look out for Baines, along with players like Micah Richards,Leroy Lita,Ashley Young and James Milner who are the stars of England in the coming years.
